Dry January: Workshop Brewery Tour

Tuesday, January 27th, 2026
Velum Fermentation, Pittsburgh, PA
6:30 - 7:30 PM EST, IN-PERSON EVENT
Welcome to part of the “Dry January: Fermentation Workshop Brewery Tour” — in this episode we will explore the fascinating world of spontaneous fermentation in non-alcoholic/low-alcoholic beverages. Attendees will learn about the simple and safe practices of making wild-fermented ginger beer and fruit kvass (a lightly fermented Eastern European beverage — think fruit soda!).
Each person will walk away with:
– a jar of ginger beer or fruit kvass (or combo!?) to ferment at home
– the curiosity and confidence to ferment many ingredients into bubbly beverages
– PDFs of handouts on the workshop’s topics
We encourage you to support our venue host, Velum Fermentation, by buying a drink or two!
Note: All products discussed and tasted in this workshop contain traces of alcohol (0.25% – 1%ABV).
This workshop is suitable for all ages.
All ingredients used in this workshop are vegan and gluten-free
No special equipment or materials are required.
