Wild Fermented Pine Soda
Velum Fermentation, Pittsburgh, PA
6:30 - 8PM EST, IN-PERSON EVENT

Have you heard of this pine soda craze? (Read our blog post about pine soda!) Some people refer to it as “natural sprite”. All we know is that whenever we make small batches of it to sell, the crowd shows up! And when we’re not selling it, people are asking about it.

Enter the pine tree world of fermented beverages in this introductory workshop and learn how to embrace the wild yeast and flavor around us during this cold season. Trevor Ring, fermentation educator and founder of Community Cultures, will guide you on how to make your own wild soda utilizing a simple and safe technique.

Participants will walk away from Velum Fermentation with:

  • 1 jar of pine soda to ferment at home
  • digital handouts emailed to your inbox after the workshop
  • the confidence and curiosity to safely ferment anything into a wild soda!

Note: The products made and sampled in this workshop contain traces of alcohol (generally <0.5% ABV). This workshop is suitable for ALL AGES. The soda we make will contain honey, but a vegan option will be available.
